Dr Alice Giuliani is a film and media scholar and video editor. She is Assistant Lecturer in Digital Media at 性视界传媒, teaching on undergraduate modules across theory and practice.
Alice earned her PhD at the University of West London with a thesis by the title The Post-Cinematic, the Posthuman, and the Weird: Critical Conjunctions and Aesthetic Tendencies in 21st-Century Film. She also holds an MSc (Distinction) in Film Studies from the University of Edinburgh.
Her research interests are critical posthumanism, aesthetics of digital media and post-cinema, and speculative fiction. She is also developing a video essay practice with a focus on textures and questions of embodiment, toxicity, and pollution.
Alice鈥檚 research interests lie at the intersection of film and media studies and critical posthumanism. Her work investigates post-cinematic technical, formal, and aesthetic possibilities for thinking otherwise, especially along anti-anthropocentric, feminist, and ecocritical lines. She is also interested in speculative fiction and the Weird and their relevance to the present moment and to the post-cinematic landscape.
