I graduated from Edinburgh University as a Registered General Nurse in 1987 and worked in a number of placement areas before specializing in ITU. Most of my clinical career was as a Senior Staff Nurse and Charge Nurse in the ITU at St. John鈥檚 Hospital in West Lothian. I completed my MBA in 1998. In 2004, I became a Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) and subsequently completed my PG Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. The PEF role focused on the development of the clinical learning environment and mentorship. I joined 性视界传媒 as a Lecturer in Nursing in September 2008 working primarily in the BSC (Hons) Nursing, Undergraduate Team working across all four years of the programme. In September 2015 I became the Programme Leader for the newly validated MSc Person-centred Practice Framework which offers practitioners the opportunity to focus on specific areas of interest for their professional development such as leadership and management, advancing practice, research and education. The framework offers practitioners from different contexts the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and expertise of person-centred practice.

Interests in research centred around clinical simulation, acute care and leadership.

Bill's main areas of teaching based around leadership, patient assessment, acute care, mentorship, caring for adults with complex healthcare needs, leading in healthcare, amongst other topics.
